Twin Peaks singer Julee Cruise dies battling lupus

American musician, singer, songwriter and actress Julee Cruise has died at the age of 65.

She appeared as a character in Twin Peaks, singing in the town’s bar, and in its movie spin-off Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. She also featured in Twin Peaks: The Return, Lynch’s third season of the show, in 2017. Twin Peaks creator David Lynch has paid tribute to Julee, who recorded the TV show's haunting theme, as "a great musician, a great singer and a great human being".

On 28 March 2018 Julee announced on her Facebook page that she had systemic lupus, which caused her considerable pain and affected her ability to walk and stand.

Her husband, Edward Grinnan, wrote on Facebook: “She left this realm on her own terms. No regrets. She is at peace … I played her [B-52’s song] Roam during her transition. Now she will roam forever. Rest in peace, my love.”

Carrie Ann said that she only recently learned she had lupus as her doctor forgot to tell her. “It’s so weird," she said. "I was diagnosed with autoimmune six years ago, but my doctor didn’t tell me I had lupus,” she continued. “I was having a colonoscopy and I saw my chart [read] lupus and I was like, ‘This is not my chart,’ and they were like, ‘You have lupus.’”

The R&B/pop star will be presented with Lupus LA’s Loop Award for her work on behalf of the organization’s ongoing fight against the autoimmune disease. The presentation will take place during Lupus LA’s 15th annual Orange Ball at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif. on May 4.

TV anchor Durga Menon passes away age 35.

Popular Malayalam TV host Durga Menon passed away on Friday in a private hospital in Kochi. She was just 35 years old.

According to reports, she was undergoing treatment for Lupus. She was kept on ventilator support for the last 21 days and unfortunately succumbed to a heart attack on Friday evening.

She is survived by husband Vinod, a businessman, and son Gowrinath.
